Carina of course :D

First light test with very little data, it was more to test of few new things.

New camera, new scope, and new filter adapters I designed and made up to allow 31mm filters to be used in conjunction with an ASI2600MM without noticeable vignetting.

I'm actually going to start designing and printing things for people like these adapters, bahtinov masks, custom designed things (for a cost as time isnt infiniite after all).

Upshot is, this is a slightly-out-of-focus Carina, but a successful first light in many ways with a few tweaks to come to really dial this setup in, lock it down and call it 'my goto rig' for at least a year without changing things (fingers crossed).

[edit: reprocessed just now and found the focus I thought I had]

Taken Tuesday night, up till 4:30am and still paying the price.
EQ6r Pro, ASI2600MM Pro, ZWO 36mm EFW, 31mm Astrodon 3nm filters, Skywatcher Quattro 10", ASIAir Pro.
12x6minute Ha, 6x6min Oiii, 6x6min Sii all gain 100 @ -10degrees.
3x60s R,G,B gain 0 @ -10 degrees.

Gorgeous!!!
Slightly OOF or not, that's a killer Carina. I can only hope my first light is half as good.

Colours and composition are spot on.

Thanks Adam! Im glad you like it, and Im sure it will be. It's actually hard to stuff Carina up at the rate its pushing photons out towards you sensor. That's why it's such an amazing target.. as bright as the sun (from a nebulosity point of view) is how id describe it. We all know this, just saying of course.

What a wild colour palette Andrew. Looks fantastic well done. The scheme moves your attention away from the normal features highlighted in Carina and gives a greater emphasis to the whole nebula. Very nice indeed.

Thanks Mike, I do too on most occasions, and this is one of them as i decided to go with the starry portrait orientated version on astrobin.

Much appreciated Ryan! Normally ill spend a long time trying out different colour palettes, but this time I started & finished with SHO. Decision was easy.

A wonderful panoply of colours. Quite an immersive image, I like it.

I'm glad! Thanks Greg. How lucky are we though to have Carina in our skies, being as bright, intricate & expansive as she is. Any astrophotographer's go-to target.
