STF8300M plus now a DUTCH AUCTION

For sale is a SBIG STF-8300M with the integrated factory-fitted OAG with SBIG ST-i guide camera (US$595 A$700+replacement) CF8 filter wheel with a full complement of Baader LRGB and NB filters. There is also a 3nm Ha filter and a spare OIII. All are drop-in 36mm. The helical focuser for the guide cam cost another A$250.

The STF8300M with OAG, FW (but without filters) sells (from Astronomica.com) for US$4195 (i.e. A$5785 plus GST plus post so close to A$6000. Include the ST-i and helical for another grand.

The2 filters sets sell for Euros 767 (Lunatico) i.e. A$1193 plus GST and post so closer to A$1300. The Ha3 and the spare OIII would add another grand or thereabouts.

So the filters and accessories alone would set you back over $3 grand on their own. So the STF8300 becomes pretty cheap for the total price I am asking.

I am not looking for anywhere like the prices mentioned above. I am further cutting this price to A$2500 p.p..

I will entertain sensible offers but won't reply to silly ones.

I am selling because I am drastically downsizing my imaging ambitions due to recent diagnosis of acute osteo arthritis which makes it too difficult for me to manage anything more than light-weight kit.

Comes with original pelican case plus a mix of attachment and adapters.

I have lopped $500 of this bundle. By my maths, you get the LRGB a d NB plus Ha3nm etc filters and STi guide cam with helical focuser for about 40% off cost and the main CCD with FW and OAG for less than a grand.

So the price now is $2750 plus post.

OK. Here it is: Starting tomorrow, I will reduce the price by $100 a day every day at noon (Qld time) until we hit the ridiculous price of $2000. At that point, I will probably offer individual items (filters OAG/FW STi etc) for sale but that is in the future.
