View Full Version here: : How Aussie can one week get???
Went to my first dawn service at the War Memorial this morning.
Very moving. Very dignified.
Was great to see 30,000+ people crammed in there to pay their solemn respects and keep the Anzac spirit alive.
I now have just under 48 hours to go until I swear the oath of allegiance and take my very proud place among my fellow Australians at a Citizenship Ceremony.
To say I'm really feeling a sense of it all is an understatement.
Don't know why I waited 24 years to take the plunge, but I'm about to do it.
Very proud.
Hi Matt, glad you enjoyed the Dawn service they are a great experience.
Congrats on your upcoming citizenship, that will be another great day for you as well.
Dont forget to have a warm meat pie and a schooner of Fosters for lunch afterwards, very Australian
Cheers mate
Thanks, Ric.
Had my ceremony today.
Am now 'officially' an Australian:)
I really enjoyed it and it was great to see so many people from so many different parts of the world doing the same.
I can thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone yet to go through the same process.

Why can't people born here get a certificate like that, or better still, why can't they jazz up birth certificates a bit?
Good idea Ron, my birth certificate has more sticky tape than paper these days
Cheers
It is a beautiful certificate, Ron. That's for sure.

Congratulations on becoming an Aussie. Did you know that a stubbie holder makes a good dew-shield, ha ha.
Wow. I'd have to be drinking pretty big stubbies for the holder to double duty as a dew shield on my 9.25!:scared:

Actually, maybe a darwin stubbie holder would be better. I have a ETX 125 PE and am pretty happy with the views, although I've never looked through a scope other than mine( bought it in an impulsive moment, glad I did). What's the view through a C9.25 like, what type of optics?:D
The view is very nice, Brett. The optics are SCT.
If you want to know more about the 9.25 perhaps you could go through the Equipment forum?
This is a bit off topic:)

Thanks for the advice Matt, I'm new here and still have to learn all the protocols. Love to see you post some pictures taken with your 9.25", maybe start a thread where everyone posts a picture of the same object(eg. Saturn) with different scopes for a comparison of aperture vs image. I'm still learning the sky, so my ETX 125 shows me more than enough- but I'm sure aperture fever will get the better of me eventually.
Hi Brett.
I've posted many pics taken with my 9.25.
They are in the Solar System forum:)
OK - back on topic.

Or should that be neutered?
