View Full Version here: : Solar Observations Dec 24 2021
Another foggy start this morning with many interruptions. The following images were taken in three wavelengths in ordinary seeing. Having expended so much energy I was determined to produce something for my effort. The highlight of the imaging session was a beautiful but tiny lightening like prominence in Ca K. Luckily for me I was viewing at the right time as it was all gone in 10 minutes. For Ca K and Continuum shots I used an Orion ED80T CF refractor and for the Ha shots I used a single stacked 60mm Solarmax II.

Gerard,
Excellent set of images! You should be very happy with the results.
I think your CaII K images are first class - good focus, well resolved.
I'm impressed.
Thanks guys much appreciated. Merry Christmas to you all.
An additional 2 shots processed this afternoon one in Ca K and the other in Ha to add to the list.

Great set of images Gerard keep them coming before I forget what the sun is, perpetually cloudy over here on the coast.

Gerard,
That CaII K image is very impressive….
I’m clouded out, and waiting on a replacement USB3 cable.
Hopefully things will come together soon.
Keep them coming.
Thanks Jeff and Ken. I hope you'll have some good weather coming your way soon.
Ken sorry to hear your USB3 cable has given up the ghost. I hope that you are up and running again soon.
On the good news front here I've worked out how to make a clean dark mask for that prom shot in PS.
Happy holidays.
