With the inevitable release of energy when one of those stars finally succumbs to the black hole, I can't help but wonder if there is also a 'goldilocks zone' in the galaxy, ie not too close to energetic emissions from the central black hole (and more crowded galactic orbits messing with oort clouds and kuiper belt objects).

I recall a much earlier video of a star changing color (red/blue shift) as it zooms past the black hole. That was very noticeable.
