IC4628-NGC6559 nebula- detail

Hi Guys

IC4628 and NGC6559 nebulae in Narrowband.
45hrs total exposure time (40min subs). Not that these are faint, but the extra exposure time allowed more detail to be revealed in processing.
OIII is subdued in this rendition due to it being a bit overwhelming.

Taken on my RCOS 10" RC Scope at f9, SBIG STXL6303E Camera and PME mount at itelescopes Siding Spring Observatory.
Processed with CCDstack, Star Tools and Photoshop. Also Starexterminator and Topaz sharpen AI. 3nm Narrowband filters. Ha, OIII and SII all 40min subs. RGB stars.

Starexterminator has made a huge difference for me in processing, and Topaz sharpen AI, IF used very carefully and only on dense data has proved to be stunning.

All I can say is what a mammoth effort to put this image together , also some excellent detail up close of this lesser known extension off the Lagoon
I imaged object this during the Winter this year but only 4 hours worth with my OSC
Maybe a little more Oiii blending may have given the colour a bit more contrast as its predominantly deep orange red blend ( only my observation)
Startools has some great options in Compose to create some contemporary blends
As I only use a OSC , the Bi Color options in Startools with the Colour Matrix are a real treat, especially SHO and Interpolate

Thanks Martin. Yes, I should have added more OIII, I get a bit one-eyed at times, Ill give that a shot. I could have separated the Ha and SII more too.

A very deep and revealing view of a well imaged object. I didn't recognize it for quite a while.

That dark ribbon is particularly detailed.

Yeah, nah... Looks like excellent data which is a shame because that last AI bit fubar'd it. You had good SNR and image scale already. No additional lipstick needed. Here's a close up with the Gemini. You can see what the AI did with the edge. It does its own cooking.

I did check other images to see how much the AI cooked up, but not this one :P.
Damn, I thought id get away with it:P. Although, what if the detail is accurate hay, what about that!
