Hi all,
I'm looking for recommendations or an entry level imaging camera for my Lunt solar 60mm HA
I recall there was/is a Phillips web cam model that was popular for several years
Thanks in advance
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
I don't know about the Philips web Cam alternatives, but I'd suggest if you want an entry level Cam better than the Philips unit to go for something like the ZWO 120mm (monochrome) or ZWO 120mc (colour). They could also be used as a guide camera for other imaging on larger scopes and with ZWO Air plus and pro devices. On your 350mm focal length they would give you an approx 0.8 x 0.6 field of view, which would adequately cover the Sun's 0.5 degree angular diameter. They can be had new for approx $220-280 new and I've seen them for $100-$150 used.

^^^Sorry I misread your scope as a 50mm Lunt which has a 350mm focal length. Yours being a 60mm scope has I believe a 500mm focal length which will make for a much tighter field of view of approximately 0.57 x 0.43 degrees, which although close, WILL NOT Cover the whole 0.5 degree wide solar disc in both directions, clipping the top/bottom edges slightly. Maybe that's OK with your use, otherwise there is a larger sensor ZWO 178 which gives a larger field of view of approximately 0.85 x 0.57 degrees and costs around $500 new
