Like so many others from the past he was a fictional character:eyepop:.. further the fiction is not even plausible as there is no way he could get close to the Sun such that it would melt the tar in his fictional wings ..in fact if such a thing did take place the character would no doubt die of cold and exposure well before anything else..:D...but these old tales persist free from scrutiny which if applied brings them to an end.
The creation of fuel from Sunlight and "air" was perhaps one of the most important events in history...much like the appearance of mitacondria...in fact if it had not taken place we would have no oxygen it would seem.
I think that nuclear energy is the only energy on the planet that does not have Sunlight somewhere in its creation...I am not sure however.

Well the uranium comes from a sun....

I expect that everything certainly came from the Sun and one can appreciate why ancient folk regarded the Sun as their creator and why those who followed years later built religions based on attributes of the Sun like incorporating death and resurrection as the Sun seems to do within its cycle. History at its best.
When you think about it the Sunworshipers were quiet correct that the Sun created everything and governed all life and even today the Sun features even more in our modern lives as suggested in the opening post.
