Overshadowed by the Space X news, China continues to develop it's own space station.
Tremendous effort, well done to their team.

Frankly I think Chinese attempts at hegemony in many areas is of great
concern.

For example, their recent destruction of a weather satellite

was an agreessive act that showed total arrogance and disregard of international space treaties and it would be
due Karma for them if that act of orbital vandalism caused subsequent grief on their space station.....

Interesting times.

Its nothing to worry about given USA has bases in most every country on the planet.

China no longer gives a toss about US influence. Case in point. there are six million people in Hong Kong who's disagree with the notion there is "nothing to worry about".

Very droll.

Getting back to China's anti-satellite test, even a fleck of paint travelling at orbital velocity can have bullet-like kinetic energy....as the Space Shuttle crew discovered nearly 40 years ago.

Yes I know all about that and the reason why they did it...at least I think I do...we never really know when trying to fathom politics at such a level as we are the targets of the propaganda that clouds these matters.

As China do not have any military campaigns in foreign countries I tend to think that they are not that much of a concern compared to various other countries who seem to be perpetually at war.

The big "crunch" will come when China's growing blue water Navy seeks to patrol waters close to home that USA sees as their stomping grounds..and one only has to follow the propaganda out of USA to see USA are ramping things up as we speak.

Further I just received a pocket watch from China that cost only $4 how can they be a threat? Can you buy a $4 pocket watch from England or the USA ..well of course you cant...case closed.

Glad you think you know why they did it, as I have no idea.

As for buying a $4.00 watch?

Wow.

Four bucks eh? Did that include postage?

Is it one of those 45 Jewel bi-axial armillary tourbillon with spherical balance-spring, with instant retrograde display of the time indication watches?

Maybe not, but it must be a beauty.

Getting back to The Chinese space station. I could not help notice the docked, Soviet styled orbital vehicle.

I wonder how much help they obtained from the Soviet space program?

Tiangong is also just a Chinese Revamp of Mir and I am sure the blue prints are available on the Internet somewhere.

It is my unsupported view that blowing up a Satellite was an indication that we (China) can get at all your weapons in one hit given the reliance on satellites...

Four bucks and postage included from memory.
I was sick of seeing all these cheap offers so I thought I will put up four bucks to stop me thinking about all this cheap stuff. I waited and waited thinking I had been dudded but then it turns up...so I am very happy on all counts...how long will it run? Will it keep reasonable time? Can the battery be replaced? ...I already had my four dollars of anticipation and fun so past this is a bonus.

Heck you could pay four bucks for the chain at the shopping centre.

As to Russian and China relations I just do not know but suspect it is probably a buy and sell relationship.

As to watches I find it unbelievable the price of some...I saw one for sixty grand and so started looking just how high they can go...millions ... Me $100 is the most I will pay..I bought a very nice wrist watch for $80, a nice mechanical pocket watch with its insides exposed ..I think $90 but cant remember and a smart watch for ????

Here is a photo of the four dollar pocket watch.
