Photo Challenge
07-11-2021, 08:41 AM
Each month we run an informal Photo Challenge as a bit of fun between stargazing opportunities. The challenge is set by the previous month's winner.

Last month's challenge was won by UniPol and for this month he has proposed "Silhouette(s)",
the outline of a person, object, or scene which is represented as a solid shape mostly black in color.

So grab a camera and go exploring. Thanks.

The Fine Print:
* This is the Entries thread. Only for posting your entry, and its back story.
* Comments on other entries are not allowed here, but can be posted to the "Comments and Other Images Thread" -> HERE (https://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=1540750#post154075 0).
* Just to clarify, entries are limited to one image per person. Additional images may be posted to the "Comments and Other Images Thread"
* Of course, the image must be your "own work"
and
* all other normal forum rules, and image size limits, apply.

The "winner" will be determined by public vote, which will be run at the end of the month, and will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo immortalised in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame".

Good Luck!

I took this candid pic many years ago of our general assistant at my high school. He wore his hat all year round and was easily recognizable. One day I happened to be walking down a stairwell at the school, camera in hand, and thought this would make a memorable photo.

Seeing this seems more Greek than silhouette now, I'll throw in my "Napping Greek man" (maybe :P) at a laundromat in Perth about 13 years ago...

Diving trip to the incredible Sipadan Island (off the coast of Malaysia) with mates in 2007. Took this photo of my friend laying back to watch the sight of tens of thousands of barracuda swirling overhead.

All with a dodgy little Fujifilm digital camera in a case that I hired. Some of the most memorable shots of my life! The island is now deemed a serious piracy / kidnapping risk so may never be able to revisit.

A special day, as this early morning rise heralded our way to "Surveyors General Corner" (WA/NT/SA border junction that day. We have just one more corner to go - the "easy one", VIC/NSW/SA).

Looking west from my house as the sun was setting. Looks like a fire in the sky.
