Jupiter, GRS and shadow transit

Jupiter, GRS and Europa with it's elongated shadow in good seeing. A little white storm on the NEQ belt near one of those elongated brown spots.

Skywatcher 300PDS 12" F5 Newtonian, ZWO ASI 183mm Pro in LRGB with Svbony LRGB filters, Svbony barlow.

Captured in Sharpcap, stacked in Autostakkert, processed in PS.

Great shot! Execution and processing are just wonderful!!
Was wondering whether you find it advantageous shooting in mono as opposed to osc? I imagine the processing is a fair bit more complicated.

David, mono verses OSC, there's a big debate over this. From my own experience, mono is still a bit better. The modern OSC cameras though are holding their own. My OSC (Svbony SV305 or 290mc clone) is very good but the 183mm is better. The newer 462mc or 485mc may do as well, I don't know. I'll wait until the successor to the 462mc comes out, if the sensor is lower noise.

Thanks Bobby. It wasn't any better in the 1980's using film. I tried and failed miserably. Then computers and CCD cameras came along.
