Hi all, thought that I would whinge about my current situation. If it is not:cloudy: , then it is :windy: or it is :sunny:. When is this infernal weather going to end? And they say that global warming is not as prevalent as we think.
I remember as a child here is SA the weather being less cloudy during spring and summer. Winter was much wetter. Now it seems the reverse is happening. Last night we had rain all night with temps at 25 degrees C. I just want some clear weather so I can get the scope out and do some imaging. Have not been able to do any for at least three weeks!
Sorry just grizzling.

I'll stand in line with you Paul.
Guess when the clouds disappeared? From first quarter to full moon.:mad2: At least last night was fine and the moon was a bit later. Unfortunately its tennis social night at the tennis courts right next door to me on tuesday nights. Fingers crossed for tonight, though I do believe a thunderstorm is forecast.
good luck

Yeah I noticed something very similar, the moon is interesting, but not what I want to concentrate on at the moment. The forecast for the next five days is looking much better though, so you never know. I might finally get to use the focal reducer that I bought three weeks ago!:eyepop: That will be the 12th time that I have used the scope since I purchased it in May.:mad2:

I hear ya.. In sydney it's been horrible for 2.5 weeks now, since the last new moon weekend there hasn't been a single observing night.
The weather has been up and down too, raining one day and 42 degrees the next. It's got me wishing for those dark cold winter mornings again.

So the weathers your fault Mark. I thought it was still hanging around because of me. But you had to go and buy a new focal reducer. I think we all need to get together and decide which week in the year everyone will buy something new. That way the rest of the year should be fine. :D Plus a bit of mass retail therapy never hurt anyone:cool:
I suppose though if we all went shopping for stuff on the one week we'd all be building Arks(:prey2: Hope the gods have a sense of humour, maybe I'm pushing my luck:bowdown: )
Cheers

Sorry about laying the blame at your feet Mark. I think Ving is right, there must be more than a focal reducer or a new LX200 at work here. If there is a new observatory being built I hope we all get an invite to first light, whenever that might be. :cloudy: :windy: (mind you it could be me again, just recieved my ToUcam on Tuesday morning:ashamed: )

Tuesday 2nd December, tonight is clear, and I am not tired from working, the girlfriend is not here and I have set the scope up and waiting for the cool down. I think I will take some shots of M42 with the focal reducer and some also of eta carina if it is not too late. Maybe even some of Omega centauri. Wish me luck.:stargaze:
Hoping for a great night.
Paul
