Sculptor Galaxy (aka The Silver Dollar Galaxy) and the globular cluster NGC228.

This is my first post and I'm excited to present this image. I've been discovering the satisfaction and challenge of astrophotography for a few months now after wanting to try it for many years.

Imaged with a Lumix G7 MFT camera, Lumix 150-300mm lens @ 300mm (600mm 35mm equivalent), f5.6, ISO 1000. Piggybacked on a Celestron Nexstar for tracking.

Lights: 43 @ 20 sec, 330 @ 5 sec (2 sessions); 65 darks, 30 flats, 20 bias.
Stacked, registered, integrated and light pollution removal in Astro Pixel Processor.
Photoshop development: levels and curves stretching, noise reduction with Topaz Denoise ai, sharpening with Topaz Sharpen ai, gradient removal with Astro Flat Pro.

Hi Frank and welcome to the forum!

Your image is a great start and well done.

Be warned though, astrophotography is a never ending journey.

Research and more research.

Do the tutorials and take notes, there is an infinite way of processing an image.

We will always be here to help if you ask.

And...have fun :)
