Saturn and Jupiter

Hi all, I've been a bit slack uploading lately. Anyway, there may or may not be a little storm I've picked up on Saturn. It's hard to make out. If anyone want to check it out in your imaging session it's at L1 107.3, L2 190.9, L3 227.8, Lat +15.0.

Jupiter had had a few transits. I think this one is from Ganymede and Io. And there is a quiet side too.

Taken with my Skywatcher 12" F5 Newt and ZWO 183mm Pro.

Might be interesting to see if Trevor ( Quark ) in Broken Hill has imaged the possible storm as he is a Saturn aficionado.

Tried to get some avis' earlier tonight of a double shadow transit on Jupiter but the seeing was garbage so I'm not optimistic of getting any worthwhile images from the vids. Pity, as this was about the last chance for this season of capturing a double transit, plus Red Spot.

I got a couple of shots last night between clouds, but the wind was gusting also making it very frustrating. Plus there are showers about. I did get a reasonable shot of Saturn but no sign of a disturbance.

Nice work Kevin, for the last couple of Saturn apparitions there has been ripples or wave type structure resolved along the border of the EZ impinging up into the NEB.This has resulted in high altitude material from the EZ being fed in to the NEB which has resulted in the thin white stripe of material seen running along the centre of the NEB, mostly in good quality IR data. Not sure what wavelength you have used here. The data has a lot of noise in it but certainly worth keeping an eye on. I guess it just highlights the point that, given good seeing it is always worth capturing some photons.

Thanks Trevor. I think in my image the seeing is just a bit too poor to make out what's going on. I keep looking for better seeing but Saturn is dropping into the muck now.
