26th Oct. A prominence erupted today on the Sun's NE limb just before midday- it lasted for only about 15 minutes. I managed to image the eruption - conditions were not the best but it was spectacular. I had to overexpose the surface in order for the eruption to show up. Lunt 100 Ha scope with Canon 550d camera. Single exposures of 1/80 sec.
The last image shows the Sun's southern hemisphere with some sunspots and flares (ARs are numbered).
Thanks for viewing.

Oh, wow that is a great catch of an spectacular eruption . Well done for being in the right place at the right time.
Seems like there may be more activity in the offing as the region rotates into view.
Some excellent images on Spaceweather.com as well.
