not sure if this is in the right section. Please move if not.
Assuming you could launch a high velocity probe (hypersonic) where would you send it and what sort of sensor readings would you want to get from it?

Hi Smenkhare,
Not 100% sure where you are aiming with this?
The problem being the definition of "hypersonic" in that it only relates to atmosphere bound aircraft (ie not rockets)... in which case I would send the probe to the CBD and back with me in it to beat the traffic.....
If you mean however a very fast rocket style probe to elsewhere, ie other planet or the like. I would go for Pluto, and see what its realy like.... what sensor reading would I want? For a Pluto trip I would add a decent size telescope and see what things are realy like under an unpoluted sky...

Like they did with the asteriod high impact observation ...find the closest black hole and cross the event horizon ... still working on the equipment to get the data back.

Apparently it came out on the far side of the singularity and ended up a week before where and when it left, so no financial loss whatsoever to the taxpayers
