Hi all,

Apologies for the lack of participation on the forum and events; I've been extremely busy with work and life.

Here's one from my stay over at Zane's observatory in late January.

Read and view here (http://members.optusnet.com.au/mrozycka/Magellan_Observatory/Magellan_Observatory_20070128_Eta_C arinae_Nebula.html).

Warning: file is approximately 1.17 MB in size.

As always, comments and critique welcome.

Regards,
Humayun

Now THAT is what a DSLR image "should" look like!

Lots of exposure and very nicely processed - well done!

Perhaps a bit red maybe, more magent is needed but still excellent!

Great to see your work again, H!

Beautiful star colours in the background. An amazing array. If only that level of colour was visible at the eyepiece!

David,

You're far too kind. Thank you. :)

Mike,

It's always great to receive praise from yourself.

I agree, it's a tad too red. I'll go back and have another play around with it and see if I can't do better.

Here's to the next image outdoing this one.

Gary,

Cheers, mate.

The Borg is a nice little scope.

StarKers,

Thanks!

Eric,

How's it going, mate? Cheers for the compliment.

Unfortunately, it's not my telescope. It belongs to Zane Hammond at Magellan Observatory. I borrowed it for the night.

Rod,

The last version, you mentioned was wearing bright red lipstick. This one has toned it down a little, but, needs more magenta.

I'm quite happy with the way the stars turned out, as well.

The Bok Globules looked incredible through Zane's 24" Dobzilla. I'd imagine the views would be similar through your new toy. Congratulations on the new addition to the family. ;)

David,

It was a lot of effort, but, it's so much fun when it all works and the results speak for themselves. :)

Phil,

Thanks for the kind words. :)

Jase,

Thank you, kindly. :)

Humayun

very very nice. The subtle colour changes in the nebula are evident, as is a good range of star colours.

Scott,

Thanks, mate. I love the colouring, especially on the mid-right-hand side. For some reason, it reminds me of ice cream.

Cheers!

Louie,

Thank you, kind sir. :)

There are so many great practitioners on this site, but you know, there's just something special about your pix. If I could collate one persons work on this site into a coffee table book it would be yours. (infact, it would be an interesting thread ?!) Your eye for composition is something very special, I don't even have to actually love the final product, or even the subject matter, infact I don't really like the 'red' bias so many people seem to have with modded cameras, but the work and eye behind your camera is very evident and I always look forward to your posts.
Now get out there, stop having a life and post some more !

PS started a thread with best collections here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=217682#post217682)

Alan,

That's the nicest thing anyone has said about my astrophotography, ever.

I'm humbled and pleased at the same time. :)

Every photograph I take, I put my all into it.

I should mention, that I owe a lot to Louis Atalasidis, who has kindly given his time and taught me the essentials of processing -- the most important part of the game.

As for stop having a life -- my G-11 just arrived over the weekend -- bye bye, life. :)

Thank you.

Regards,
Humayun
