View Full Version here: : NGC1269 - Ring Galaxy
Something different, I found the inner bar and ring structure most interesting.
Not many examples out there and my result brought out unique colour.
This is a heavy crop and quite noisy.

Good work on the structure. The colour of the core seems contrary to astrophysics. Most galaxies have a warm salmon-pink core, comprising myriad small, cool, old stars. We've not photographed this one ourselves; you're tempting us.
Hi M&T
Probably worth a look with the big scope.
There is quite a lot of detail missing in my effort.
The few results out there vary in hue, however I did find one that had the same magentarish glow.
I didn't fiddle with the colour balance (not that I know of at least).

Pete,
Nice capture of an unusual rare galaxy and yes a tad noisy though
Gee you go for the difficult ones
Well done for effort
Cheers

Hi M
I was wondering if you had been locked out of the dome.
Hope you can escape soon!

Yeh Domes been locked up since end of August , unfortunately had to get back to Sydney for some business and family ( 2 more grandkids , one born last week and another to be born possibly next week )
Didn’t stop me from imaging though , snagged NGC 253 during the week with my little 6” newt using a different technique, heaps and heaps of short subs during the new moon period plus calibration.
Hope to get back down the coast in November
I’m busting to get in the water to have a swim and a surf at my local beach 5 mins walk away
Cheers
M
