Really nice Greg!
Great star colour and a nice emission Nebula there all put in context with the surrounding Milky Way.

Thanks Pete. I think a good refractor images stars well. I was surprised by the
Ha areas. I didn't shoot any Ha its just LRGB.

I thought I posted before. That is a really pretty field, as Pete posted, a nice emission neb, the Milky Way as a backdrop and a nice cluster to boot. I am hoping for some decent weather so I can have another crack at widefields with my SVX80T, it hasn't seen the sky in a couple of months.

Thanks. Its the first time I have imaged this. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Ha areas as I didn't expect anything there. I didn't shoot any Ha either.
I have often admired these open cluster images. I did a few of these recently. This is the first one I processed out of a few.

Hi Greg, I really like this one, beautiful colour rendition, great work.

Hey Greg, you've nailed that one, well done!
Q) Why bin 2x2 though?

Beautiful. So much to like. The one single red giant in the otherwise all-blue cluster. The reflection nebulosity. The black dust in the background. And best of all, the squillions of cool dim red stars in the general Milky Way.

Thanks Andy. Why 2x2? Firstly to get the image scale closer to 1 arc sec. Secondly there is still a gain in SNR with these CMOS sensors and 3rdly because 1x1 files are 130mb in size whereas 2x2 are "only" 30mb!
You make it seem poetic and so it is! Thanks M and T.
Thanks Mat. I like it too but your LMC image is outstanding.
