Hi all,
This shot is a combo of two 90sec 8bit SER files taken with the 10"Newt high at the meridian last Sunday nigh. Processed using AS!3, Registax,PS
Seeing was pretty good 8/ Trans 8.

Watching the rain now for the next three days or so...
Cheers,
Anth

Good one Anth! Wondering how you combined the 2 files? Did you use Winjupos to derotate?

Thanks Marc!

Dave- I have tried Winjupos in the past once or twice with little luck. These shots were taken back to back so not a lot of rotation present. I basically layered one over the other with a slight manual shift ( this was achieved by setting the transparency to 30% so it was easy to see where it made a perfect overlay. Then boosted it up to 40% using the ‘multiply’ selection, then flatten.
It’s not the most technical way to do this but what it does is add a little depth to the image which helps with colour and overall detail. This being said the single image is probably better in its own right - hard to split any differences to be honest.

Hope this explains it.
Anth.

Cool thanks. Yeah it’s often a balancing act between colour/depth/smoothness and fine detail. I’ve never had much joy with Winjupos either which is why I asked the question! Nice work mate
