Nice one Mick - colour contrast mentioned by John (ausastronomer) is quite evident for this wide double.

Great job Mick, thanks for contributing to the challenge!

Still haven't seen this one yet - might have to try it now that the moon is out.

Seeker,

Very nice images (Seeker and Mick), good to see a few people taking up the challenges.

I was actually the one that selected X Velorum as the double star target for May and did the write up on it. If you liked that one Seeker and come along on Saturday evening to Kulnurra there are another 3 similar colour contrast doubles within very close proximity to X Velorum which I would be happy to show you, although they are not quite as bright or striking they are still very nice. You should also like this month's double star target "24 Comae" which is very simlar in appearance although much more widely known than X velorum.

If you don't come along on Saturday let me know and I can give you the names and co-ordinates of the other 3 doubles if you are interested.

Mike,

One of the 5 best doubles in the entire sky and you haven't seen it !!!!!!!! You need to spend more time out with your scope :)

It's not time out with the scope John, it's time spent looking at doubles :D

Doubles just haven't been on my "must look" list, though I do plan to give them some credit and see if they float my boat :)

Just seen your X photo seeker, I've been away for work. It's just beautiful with back ground stars. Onto the next colourful Dub :D
