This is a recent image. Not a lot of exposure and its a bit noisy so consider it more a work in progress. Not a patch on Mike and Trish's but its an interesting galaxy that I haven't imaged before.
Ha Luminance + Synthetic luminance plus RGB 60 190 60 60 60 minutes.
7 hours 10 minutes.

It's an enigma NGC55 as it could be described as the ugly duckling but has a certain charm that draws one in. I agree that more data is required here and worth continuing with. I'm beavering away capturing data on this one myself as I figure that if everyone has an NGC55 I should have one myself :D.

Yes why should others have all the fun with NGC55!

Looking good Greg, the Ha really stands out, although there is a green tinge to some of the stars. More data will enhance

You've brought out some very interesting detail at the top left, with a dark dusty area followed right at the top left of the galaxy by some blue star formation. We've never noticed that before. It's in our old RGB image if we screw our eyes up. The dusty area itself has a smaller dusty area, like a knob perhaps, with clear star formation around its edge. Good stuff.

Thanks Mike. I look forward to seeing your beauty when you get all the colour.

Probably both. These 3.76 micron pixels need more refocusing than normal as temperature shifts. With the RHA I am imaging at .67 arc secs/pixel so perhaps I am better off imaging 2x2 and go for 1.34 arc secs/pixel and leave the 1x1 for nights of good seeing.
