Here are some photos of the RAAF C-17A along with ARH Tiger and MRH90 Taipan Helicopters at Brisbane Riverfire 2021, on their dress rehearsal on Thursday 23rd Sept 2021.

No fast jets this year.

The C-17A performed 2 passes along the Brisbane River; the 1st at 1,000ft with the 2nd at "no less than 300 ft" according to the RAAF website.:)

Great images Dennis

In looking into the question posed by Hans on the multiple C17 aircraft I found this...
Apparently they were training (MAX the volume for aircraft sound, but excuse the language in the video & go FULL screen)

Thanks Col, Gary, Marc, Leon, Hans, Steve & JA, I appreciate your comments.:)

The event was cancelled in 2020 due to CV-19 so the last time I photographed the C17-A was back in 2019 and I had forgotten how big the beast is, as well as its amazing agility.:eyepop:

I was a little rusty as these are the only aircraft events that I go to, so I adopted the “spray and pray” method as the EOS R5 has a much larger image buffer than my older Canon DSLRs.:)

This led to a lot of tedious culling, but also gave the opportunity to make a composite aligned on the buildings, so I could blend in several frames to show the C17-A on its 300 feet pass.

The composite C17-A image attached to this post is from 2018 where I was shooting from the top of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs.

Some colourful language in that clip JA.:)

Spectacular image! From an admirer of good aircraft photos.

Not that I ever saw it over the BNE River (though I have seen one) the F111 "dump & burn" would have been great to see, and photograph?
