Losmandy Gemini II Retrofit Kit

I own a Losmandy GM8 with Digital Drives, while 10 years old, it's in super clean condition. I'm a visual-only user, would like to add GoTo capability and it's natural to consider the Gemini II Upgrade Kit. If I lived in California (but I don't) I would just buy a new GM8 with Gemini II. Losmandy and a rew dealers, currently have Gemini II Retrofit kits in stock but new mounts have a lengthy wait-list. Considering the cost of the Gemini Retrofit Kit ($1595 US), a colleague suggested I sell my GM8 as is and buy a new SkyWatcher HEQ5 or AZ/EQ5 with SynScan GoTo. Anyone done a Gemini II Retrofit Kit installation, anyone a Gemini II user? I find the GM8 portable, easy to set up and polar align but so are the SkyWatcher mounts, too.

You're pretty much paying for a gemini2 with the motors.
You could maybe source a second hand Gemini 1 and motors to cut your costs.
