Can anyone advise on best way to reduce size of image files to the 200k limit set on this forum. I have tried PS but the smallest I can get a jpg to is 1.5Mb. Even when I reload the smaller file and try to reduce further I am stuck at 1.5Mb

Thanks

You should be able to upload any file smaller than 2mb and then it will be automatically downsized to under 200kb by the page when posted.

Hi LKD

If memory serves you can upload a ~< 2MB or so image and the forum software will resize it to be ~200MB.

Here is a test below....
Uploaded as a 1.0MB file and downsized by the forum software to 231.8MB
281117

When I tried the 2.7MB version of this image the upload failed

Lower the quality slider when saving as JPEG and keep an eye on the file preview size. If quality goes below 50% then consider lowering the image size.

Hii, I use https://www.irfanview.com/ Keeping the original file and saving the smaller file that I have reduced in Irfan view as a separate file. Mark

If you’re using PS then File>export>save for web(legacy).
You can then easily adjust the quality slider and/or select a smaller image size.

Hi,
Here's another free program that has a heap of features & is very quick in operation.
Been using it for years.
