I love spider season!

The LMC has so many interesting and unique nebulas to target, and NGC 2070 never gets old. Here I've chosen to feature the lesser seen loop below 2070 and the cute little frog guy below. :D

This is the first tricolour narrowband hit out with the new TOA-35 reducer, and I must say I'm pleased with the performance of this frighteningly expensive piece of glass. The wide FOV and one stop speed gain from f7.7 to f5.3 is wonderful. Unfortunately, the wider fov shows up a tiny bit of residual tilt in the sensor, but a post lockdown trip beyond 10k’s to see Dr. Diego at Sidereal trading should sort that out once and for all!

This image is a bit short on S2 data, and there's no RGB stars yet, but I was bored during lockdown, so processed what I had so far - all shot under a full moon too- aah the joys of narrowband! ;)

Hope you like it - click here for Astrobin. (https://www.astrobin.com/full/5o7t0c/0/) :)

Great shot Andy, of such a complex region and yeah, very colourful, looks good  The star distortion on the edges is pretty minor

I have come close to shooting that Bullfrog area myself, with my narrow field setup, a few times now over the years...haven't quite got around to it yet , always managed to settle on something else, but I have always wanted to hit it...so, guess it will have to be one (of the 100's on my list so far  ) for Eagleview :)

Great shot Andy of an area I would love to image but unfortunately it is not in my time window.

Wonderful swirls of colour and threads of nebulae spreading across the field. Nice to see some lockdown production happening.

Beyond superb! A wonderful wide-field map of the area for those like us with tunnel vision. Full of enticing intricacy and detail.

Thanks Mike - appreciate the nice feedback. It's been a longer than expected journey getting the Tak/QSI fully sorted, 99% of the way there now. :D

Cheers George! You have access to a few nice Northern targets we don't see, so it all evens out I guess. ;)

Thanks Rodney - it's a very photogenic region! Don't get me started on Lockdown though.... :help:

Cheers M&T! I suspect a bit more LMC action will follow this one, as I explore the opportunities available with this wider FOV. :D

With your revised version, a step into an amazingly creative work.

You are truly a master of the camera and all that it reveals.

Very well done

Wow, that is a super image. Love the colour palette. You've caught some background Ha that shows some of the brighter areas actually are in a sort of crater in the background. Very 3D.

Greg.

Yeah this is how I imagine the nebula to look in my minds eye. Great work, Andy

Many thanks JA, Peter, Greg, Adam, Andrew & Nik for your good vibes & nice feedback. It was a nice weekend with the Dees getting up in the AFL too, so something else to celebrate during this loooooong lockdown. :D
Have just managed to snag a few hrs of RGB, so might pop those star colours back in soon.
Cheers All! :drink:

Lol, thanks Mark!

Cheers Matthew, RGB data gathered, and some additional NB - just need to psych myself up to process it all again!
Still, no excuses- plenty of time available during lockdown
