Hey folks,

I'm considering getting a solar scope and want to use my ZWO ASI 120MM-S but without an ASIair. I just want to be able to look at the sun through my iphone/ipad for video astronomy and take pictures/video. Wired connection is fine for me... or wireless. Does anyone know which app to use?

PS I have an ASIair gen 1 that I actually haven't used in a while. But it doesn't really push pictures off the SD card to my device, which is what I'd like to do as well. I forget, is the live viewing on the ASIair suitable for video astronomy?

Sorry, just realised this might have been better placed in the other equipment discussions. Apologies!

Hi Riyad.

I use ASICAP on my Android devices for use with
my ZWO cameras.

I am sure ASICAP is Apple compatible.

Connecting the camera via USB cable to the devices
with a OTG adapter.

It's then easy to just open the app and use the sliders
or even auto settings to view or take images or video.

I'm sure there would be similar adapter for Apple products.

Hope this helps ?

Paul.

Hi Paul, thanks for your reply.

Yep, I remember ASICap from back in the day when I used Android.

I've looked in the Apple app store though. It's not there.

Cheers,
Riyad

Hi Riyad,
ASICap runs fine on Mac OS. You download it from ZWO.

Thanks, SB.

I would rather not use my macbook.

I'm after a way of using my iPhone or iPad instead.

Are there any apps that are compatible with my 120MM-S camera?

Cheers.
