Nice details coming through there Wayne, good result from an 8 inch scope. Jupiter is still in a good position and reasonable size for the next month or so. It's always a balancing act between increasing gain and reducing exposure to achieve a faster frame rate. For a smoother result you can decrease the gain and lower the frame rate to around 60fps but you'll need to increase exposure to compensate for reduction in brightness.

Thanks for the tips Michael, I'll up the exp and lower the gain a little next time :)

Yes Jupiter is still up but I want to try for the Helix nebula and get back into DSO. I was out last night until 2:30am and I saw Orion..... its already coming around!
