So I just bought a celestron 6” and saw Saturn for the first time’wow’. It was amazing to see that. Can anyone recommend something just as amazing to view.
Hey Cap_mac,
Glad the view gave you a wow moment :)
Obviously Jupiter would be next.
I would recommend for bright deep sky that would be amazing is:
47 Tuc -NGC104
Omega Centauri
Eta Carina
Jewel Box
Pavo Globular Cluster
Tarantula Nebula

Thanks so much for the tips.
Hey Stu,
All good, the best advice I can give is just have fun with the scope and viewing. The other stuff will fall into place by themselves.
If you can find like minded family or friends its quite a fun activity to do together have a great time and chat.

Welcome to the Saturn "Wow" club. My first view of Saturn when I was 14 hooked me, I am a little (Cough) older than 14 now.
Two of my favourite deep sky "Wow" objects.
47 Tuc at moderate magnification. And even better if you can learn to use averted vision. Basically you have the object in the middle of the eyepiece "Look" up near the edge in terms of where you eye is physically looking, but concentrate on the middle of the view. When you get the hang of it, extra detail in faint stuff will noticeably pop.
M42 at the lowest magnification you have.
