Not sure how well you have contained the noise with this one...but...in
all other respects, this is one of the finest M8's I have seen on IIS
this season.
Excellent scale and framing, uber tight star profiles, perfect colours, highlight and shadow...just sublime.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks Peter, Wasnt really expecting much, as stated no flats, pretty average conditions, and had to adjust tilt (post imaging session) of focusser after closely examining the stars, but for a quick test image looks OK. Been trying to get my head around some narrowband of M8, got sick of it so thought I would have go and spend an hour on the one shot colour data. Would love to take this rig out to Warwick!
Actually made a typo on my astrobin data, image was 15x180sec subs, not 300sec subs. Still in narrowband frame of mind!

Epic field. Lots of colors and details. These stars are so tiny. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks Marc, looking forward to going deeper. Maybe have to wait til next year.
Extracted ( no pun intended) some detail in the core. This is pretty much as good as I can do with the data. Look forward to re visiting M8.

Lovely!
Why not post the full image instead of the thumbnail?

Yes, I agree it looks good at "Fit to window" but has anyone actually looked at the full res? :question:
