Hi All,

I'm seeking to identify an appropriate tripod adapter for my Athlon Midas G2 10×50 UHD (113007) - Athlon produce adapter 706001 but it's unclear whether that is suited to the 113007 or what configuration the adapter's base plate is for fitting on a tripod (Athlon response pending). Can anyone clarify this? Additionally will anyone provide me with an alternate adapter known to fit the 113007 without impeding it's entire IPD range?

Adaptor link: https://athlonoptics...er-code-706001/ (https://athlonoptics.com.au/product/athlon-binocular-tripod-adapter-code-706001/)

Thanks for considering...

Hi Deane

Unless the end cap (with the orange A marked on it) at the objective lens end of the binos centre column unscrews to reveal a 1/4x20 female thread, then I cannot see how the Tripod Adapter male thread will be able to screw in?

If that is the case, you could always try something like this Swarovski Universal Tripod Adapter from Bintel:

Apparently that cap does come off and you have to use a narrow Tripod Adapter. So the Athlon produce adapter 706001 should work but the question is the adapter base.

The manual states:

TRIPOD MOUNT
Your Athlon binocular has a tripod adapter
socket under the Athlon circle logo plate in the
objective end of the center hinge. The threads
in the socket are a ¼-20 thread, standard on
most tripod adaptors.

Hi Hans,

Thanks for responding - having just taken receipt of the Athlon tripod adapter and despite Athlon saying it will fit my model - I am yet to have success in making it fit i.e. the turning knob is too big for the bridge area irrespective of what IPD position it is in...
