Editing photos taken by mobile phone

How are people editing photos taken from a camera or mobile phone that were taken without being connected to the software? I downloaded SharpCap but can't work out how to get it to use my photos or video that I took from my mobile?

Sharp cap is used to take pics with a camera.
Not to load pics into.

If you want to make a photo out of a video stream or multiple frames you want to use a program like AutoStakkert, Registax or PIPP. Google them. They're free downloads.
