This is my first go at Mercury yesterday evening. Having another go tonight as the neighbour's roof is probably cooler now
Not sure what to make of it but the phase and shades seem legit and match Stellarium.

Well TBH I'm not sure. The brain is really good at seeing patterns where there aren't. I don't have any other stream to compare. I was hoping to image tonight but there's still a lot of clouds hanging so not sure I can see the west horizon after sunset. Would be cool though because the temperature is down. So that roof is cool too.

Great shot with plenty of detail there. The heat gradients are always a challenge in the early evening

Well thanks for the vote of confidence guys but I don't know if I can repeat that. Beginners luck
It's true that lower altitude for the inner planets is a problem. I have an ADC on order. I nearly bought one second hand last year as I recall there was one going through the IIS classifieds at the time but I was imaging Mars which was alright at 60 degrees or so and though nah... I'm good. Silly man
Going through the other Mercury and Venus stuff. Testing different settings in AS!3 and Registax. IR is still pretty bland in IR on Venus but UV as a heap lot of details.
