I've dutifully kept the packaging from all my Astro and photography gear. The pile of boxes has become embarassing.
I'm at the point where I've little desire to go through the "trauma" of selling gear, I'm happy with what I have.
In the interests of preserving the value of my items should I keep the bulky packages or "fly light" and dispose of what is after all just cardboard?
I'd like to get rid of the packaging, however if at sometime in the future I decide to sell, will lack of packaging impact sell price, or ease of sale?

TBH it never bothered me to buy something that doesn't have the original package as long as the item is in good nick and has a manual. Shouldn't affect the price either. I'd chuck the lot.

I just went through my box of boxes yesterday, I only kept the inner box for my TOA and Televue eyepiece boxes, everything else is now in the recycling bin....

I'm a box keeper, so know your pain. I only really keep them in case we need to move. It's easier to pack in original packaging.

That said, I recently sold a bunch of gear and it was very cathartic!
Get rid of those boxes if you don't absolutely need them :)

Gentleman, I'm in your debt. It'd seem I can look forward to more space & less cardboard.
