View Full Version here: : Sun and Ca K Prominences
Well I finally managed to process some of the images taken today in very average seeing conditions. The first batch is in Ca K. Aside from prominent AR2860 about to leave our view, I noted some large wispy prominences which stood out against the dark background.

:eyepop: That's really cool. Some serious details.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Love the prom fields. They extend quite a bit.
Thanks Marc. I don't often see large prominence events in Ca K so I was quite surprised to see several around the Sun.

Yeah I've never seen whispy extented proms like these before. Not unlike a corona. Maybe you had a good bout of seeing. What calcium filter are you using?

Gerard,
Well done mate!
CaK proms are not the easiest of targets, so it's quite an achievement when you have success.
I did notice them on the MiniSHG CaK scan.
Keep them coming!
Marc I'm using a Lunt B600 on a 80mm scope
Thanks Ken. It's only the second time since I've been observing that I have seen CaK prominences like these. They're great to view when they show up on the screen.
