What a difference a couple of days make....we actually have some milky skies with sunlight!!!
These two images came from one 18sec scan of the solar disk.
16 bit SER file, ASI 178 at 160 fps
Shows the proms and the surface activity.

I think the results are as good as GONG, not bad for a $500 SHG!!
Onwards and Upwards.

Interesting results, certainly seems like good value for the money, being able to access all the frequencies with one instrument.
These are really interesting results Ken. It looks like that you have an amazing and versatile instrument there. Great stuff!
Speaking of milky skies it was that same over my observing site as well this morning. Got some imaging in then ran out of time ....again. Hopefully processing something tonight.

Thanks guys, appreciated.
Buil has designed a new ED lens for the SolEx, it should improve the quality of the results, especially in the CaK/H region.
I’ll order a couple and also look for a 10 micron slit solution. When combined with the ASI 178 it should give near optimum sampling.
This all leads to more expense but could take the MiniSHG to the next level of performance and resolution..
