Hi all,
Have just got in to a bit of solar imaging, I acquired a Quark Chromosphere and Evostar 100 scope a couple of weeks ago. There were some nice conditions for a spell while I took a 6-panel mosaic of AR12860. I cropped the result for a neater shot. Evostar 100, Quark Chromosphere, ASI290MM, best ~15% of 3300 frames each.

Wow! That's a pretty cool close up. So much details .:thumbsup::thumbsup:
How do you mosaic this stuff? It's so dynamic. Do you have to be quick with capture?

Great detail around the active area, it is an very interesting region atm. The Quarks really give an up close and personal image.

Andy, congratulations on a fine imaging result. The details in that active region are quite spectacular. Well done

Thanks everyone!
Marc, the exposures are 20s each, and so even with panning to the next panel, there's usually less than a minute between frames. While some parts are so dynamic that there are changes in that time, mostly they are small enough not to matter. But it is incredible how quickly it changes! One challenge is that the seeing can be quite variable, so it's not always apparent if you got a 'good' set before you move on, and you can't wait too long.

Thanks for the clarification. Do you use a glass ERF with your quark chromosphere? How long can you image typically in one session before the gear starts heating up?
