On the drive out through West Texas, you go by those vast wind farms.

I remember seeing an 18-wheeler that was parked on the side of the road
carrying just one turbine blade. Even though there are all these other
operating wind turbines all around you, when you see just one blade on a
truck at ground level, it still takes your brain a moment to register what the
hell it is. That's how big they are.

This 20 second video from yesterday taken by a truck driver shows the
moment when one that is slow crossing a level crossing in Luling, Texas,
is wiped out by a freight train. Soundtrack contains expletives.

Scary stuff. I wonder how the train driver is. Perhaps the blade is so light it caused the train no big problems.

Thoughts are with the driver of the train.
