Europa + Ganymede formed a nice pair out of the FOV of Jupiter on the 13th April, so I captured them separately.

250 frames stacked on each, 150% resize.

That is an outrageous image Mike Salway - very impressive detail in Ganymede. What's next - Charon!

Cheers

You don't see many images of these moons, well done, they look great :thumbsup:

:eyepop::eyepop::eyepop:

This is nuts, the detail you guy's are getting on the moons of other planets lately! You realise it's illegal to break in to the AAO and use their scope don't you?? ;)

Having said all that, how about taking the exposure down a little and getting a better view of Europa? :P

Simply stunning Mike, that is so impressive.
I wonder how you are going to go with Phobos and Deimos during Mars season with those two being a whole lot closer.

Cheers

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

Ric i've never captured phobos or deimos, but with Mars being so low this year (only 29°) i'm not entirely confident of capturing much. Also, they are much smaller and dimmer than ganymede so would need to be captured with much more exposure.

I also think they'll be nothing more than bright dots, being so small, and with no discernible albedo features. But I do look forward to giving it a try!
