Vale Charlie.
Interesting he started out in jazz like so many great band players.

I am impressed that any Rolling Stone member has managed to stay married to his first wife for his entire life (they were married in 1964).

RIP Charlie. The boys will not be the same without you. Hopefully the Stones will now retire.

I saw Charlie and his jazz band play live in London in 1985. :D

Had to catch the tube to the end of the line, then take two buses to the tiny venue in the middle of industrial nowheresville, but was well worth it to see the show.

Closest I've gotten to seeing the Stones live anyway!

A sad loss but not unexpected, the remaining band members are not getting any younger either.
Saw the Stones live at the outdoor concert at Randwick Race Course in Feb 1973. Still remember the show and Charlie was always the backbone of the band. RIP.
