The weekend before last I already had the telescope set up after some planetary imaging on the Friday night so I decided to do some deep-sky on the Saturday night. The weather had other plans and the wind really started gusting. The Mak-newt is a decent sized beast and does a reasonable impression of a sail. To try and get something usable I decided on only 30 second subs and I still threw away about 40% of them. It then proceeded to cloud over so I had to accept what I had.
Anyway despite the conditions and Bortle 7 Sydney skies I still ended up with something.
Telescope: Skywatcher MN190
Mount: AZ-EQ6
Camera: ASI2600MC
Capture: 50 x 30s sub-exposures captured in Sharpcap.

Quick and dirty but better than nothing.
Comments and CC welcome as always,
Pete.

Wow that's great detail for a windy day....let alone in a windstorm.
Did you do any post processing?

Thanks Ahmed, appreciate you taking the time to comment.
I did post-processing in Photoshop CC. Levels and curves, colour balance to remove the green and a touch of sneaky decon to sharpen it up a tad.

I agree, have continued imaging in windy conditions a few times myself over the years  Hope you were a Robocop fan...always loved that scene! :P

Nice Omega in adverse conditions
Well done !!
Poly tarps come in handy from Bunnings ( use them all the time when I’m in Sydney, stops the glare from Las Vegas lights blasting my backyard from adjoining neighbours and allows me to guide in light to medium wind

Yep.
Thanks Martin. One of the problems is that our backyard landscaping isn't finished so there's a partially covered mesh security fence along the side that allows the wind to pretty much blow right through (plus the whole Bortle 7 thing of course).
Cheers Dennis. :)

I'll have to try and do a reasonably deep image of it one day.

Thanks Russell - because I don't have a permanent setup it takes quite a lot of energy to set everything up from scratch so I try & make the most of it when I do.
Thanks Col!
One of my favourite visual targets too. With a nice wide apparent-field, medium-power eyepiece it's truly spectacular.
