these images were the result of the hard work of Dennis Zambellis, Mike Sidonio and myself (pushing the button). I was pretty crook and these two gentlemen helped me immensly. They helped test the cooled and modded 350D, and the vixen R200SS. the vixen needs a better focuser and collimation next time, the mount was an eq6. I am so happy with the results, and the autoguders were spot on......;) :D

I with to thank those two for their efforts and knowledge:thumbsup:

Excellent HOughy! ...and "the Photon Team!"

They look pretty good, but I'll have a better look when I get home on a better monitor (one that is reasonably calibrated - my work one is old and dim).

Nice work. I wish I was there. Normally I would have to be in jail or hospital to miss an Ilford new moon weekend let alone an SPSP but my wife is having a baby that is due any day now and I couldn't get a leave pass. I've been wanting to meet Strongman Mike et al for some time as he and I appear to be doing similar work. It seems the bigger names in AP only come to Ilford for the SPSP and I have been living overseas for the last three years so I haven't get a chance to meet them. :(

If you are interested in coming up to Ilford any time sooner or later let me know. I posted some pix of my equipment at http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=65
While my focus (ha ha) is on Cooled Cameras I am really impressed with what can be achieved with DSLR's

Is there anything you can do about the internal reflections? Long term you may find them a bit frustrating. Apart from that great colours and composition.

Nice work Houghy!

I only had 60k or so jpegs that you sent me too work with so I was very limited in what I could do but here are my versions of them :D

There is so much HII in the Orion region that with such low res jpegs to work with it was hard to know what was faint nebula and what was colour noise

It was fun though, thanks.

Good to have the raw data to work with

yeah, I don't know what I am going to do in the future about that:shrug: might have to obtain some pearls of wisdom from somewhere;)

Can you put it on a CD rather than a DVD. My main processing computer has only a CD drive and not a DVD.

yes it has that Sidonio "touch" - several really he guided that shot, I focussed and positioned the image, Dennis was moral support and idle chat for that one:whistle:

Thanks Monte, I like your setup:D . Mike was repressed for the weekend because his new camera had just turned up, but he hadn't had a chance to play with it:sadeyes: .

Not sure what can be done with respect to the reflection, somewhere there must be a cutoff as to exposure and oversaturation of bright objects, the scope is F4 after all. My camera was completely untested and I was stoked to see the colour coming from the test shots. Yes and DSLRs for me are a very satisfying medium, you get "instant" gratification from them, although no where near as good as what you and Mike produce;) :D . I do like to frame my shots, and make the subject a bit more interesting, but I am still learning that trade secret:help:

We are sure to be remembered for generations to come. Perhaps a book will be written about our lives and teachings by our deciples that people will live by (various versions of anyway) for some 2000 years..?
