Hi all,
Well I was keen to have another go using my new camera and had to wait till midnight Saturday for the cloud to clear. Conditions were reasonable albeit breezy.
This is my best shot of Saturn. I managed to take 5 sequences at varying settings finding the best combination of exposure/gain combo yielding 78fps over 5min.
The colour balancing is a challenge but call it fluke, managed to align it in Registax.

I can say the imaging has become far more interesting jumping across to a dedicated planetary cam and fun to use to boot.

Thanks for your comments Marc - Saturn is a dazzling planet for sure!

Yes Mick, far easier to manage particularly with the aid of viewing real time using the computer screen rather than the bulky/weighty DSLR. Less hands on so you can really wait for that moment of good seeing and press the start capture button to collect the best apparition.
I will persist with the modded cannon for the time being for deep sky stuff until i get the itch to use dedicated CCD for this too. Still need to tune the mount for tracking since I've put it on the pillar. But that's for later. The planets don't need that much attention for this attention.
