Hi this battery Cygnett ChargeUp Edge+ 12000mAh 28W Power Bank provides the following and I'm wondering if it is enough to run 12v dc input goto and tracking telescopes?
Battery Capacity
12,000mAh/44.4Wh
Battery Type: Lithium Polymer
Items Included
Lightning to USB-C cable
Input / Output
Input: Lightning: DC 5V -- 2.4A 12W (MAX)
Output: USB-C: DC 5V -- 3A, DC 9V -- 2A, DC 12V -- 1.5A 18W
Wireless Output: 7.5W/10W (MAX)
Total Output: 28W (MAX)

It only supplies 1.5a @12v. Probably won’t be good enough to even slew a goto mount.
12ah battery seems a bit small. I’d be looking at something in the 100ah capacity.
It’s a glorified phone charger. That’s it.

What telescope? You might get away with something portable like an Astrotrac but otherwise no that won’t do you any good. Not only are the amps low but I bet it can’t sustain 12V (I.e isn’t regulated)

Hi Paul,
I asked the same question for an 8se few weeks ago. There were very good responses. https://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=192814
But my suggestion is to get a 12v battery like a jaycar powertech power tank that would set you back about $200 or a car battery jumper.

Nobody can help you without knowing what mount you want to drive, and what accessories if any, you want to power. You would need a 5 amp output
to comfortably run something in the HEQ5/ NEQ6 size range.
For 40 years I used old car batteries from my my local auto electrician,
usually free, but sometimes a few dollars. They would be fine for two or three years, and then I'd get another one.
