Dragged out my old AP Star12ED which I used extensively in the 90's with Pentax67 and it produced some nice images which featured on the cover of a few astro mags.
Attached the f5.6 telecompressor which had also been gathering dust in the shed for many decades. Hard to focus scope without a micro-focusser , dont think the SII channel is quite right. My latest subs on M8 are really sharp.

Anyway 20 x 300s subs per channel, AP1200, QHY294M

I learnt a trick the other day (using PI).
Invert, SCNR (remove green), re invert.
Gets rid of the magenta stars.

Or the hard way ( I developed this procedure, well maybe...)
Gather RGB data using short exposures (30 X 30s)
Register the RGB to the SHO
Apply Starnet to the SHO and remove stars.
Apply Starnet to the RGB (registered) and keep the star mask.
Combine both with Pixelmath.
Works a treat (almost, a few stars might need to be fixed).

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the advice , need all the help I can get when it comes to image processing. Iam mainly just using curves and a basic Magenta, Cyan and green mask. Alot to learn.

There's a script in PI - CorrectMagentaStars - seems to work pretty well.
