Two Panel Mosaic Rho Ophiuchus

Rho Ophiuchus, one of my favourite parts of the sky. A two panel mosaic in LRGB 1hour and 20mins in each filter imaged remotely from Spain with the FSQ106 at F3.6 with the ZWO ASI6200MM Pro. Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop. PI makes light work of a seamless mosaic.

Its still sits quite low in Spain.

A magnificent image. Love it. I just acquired the data for a 4 panel mosaic with an AP130 at F4.5. I hope it turns out like this.

How did you tame tilt with that combo? Tilt problems with the 6200 type cameras seems proportional to the speed of the system.

not just the speed but the fact it's a full frame sensor that has just over 3 and a half um's pixels .really doesn't help. It only has to be out by a few um's to show tilt...as good as they are I cant wait for them to start making more bigger pixel CMOS's if I'm honest.

I think it helps that it is such a large object....you don't have to worry too much about the seeing at lower altitudes.

Lovely colourful Rho there Pete, excellent work, it's a magnificent area. It passes straight overhead from hear, so if I ever get remote hosting up, you could put one of your four dozen telescopes :lol: up (down) here at Eagleview and hit it again :D

Cheers Mike...there are plans on another more Southerly location in the future ;).....I am going to revisit this area next season, it starting to set to the West in Spain and only gives me about an hour window per night and that's in the dirt. So will continue when it shows itself again late March.

Many thanks Mark....I haven't printed one of my images for years... I decided to get this one printed as it's been one I have been chasing since I was 17 when I first saw it in the Astronomy magazine.....I am now 50 and finally have something to show....although I am still continuing to get frames for a bigger mosaic.....should get enough by next year...fingers crossed.
