Hi all I have a Orion shorttube 80mm is it any good for taking imagers of the planets.I was using it as a guide scope as it is still on the scope I though I mite use it for something
Hi, you won't get enough magnification for the planets, even with a barlow. For example see attached for your scope with your atik420 on jupiter.
You can try various other combinations using this FOV calculator https://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/astronomy-field-view-calculator/
