After a marathon 8hr session the previous night imaging the planets plus Sculptor galaxy ( got to bed at 4am ) couldn’t stay inside and see a beautiful clear stable night go to waist , so dragged myself into the Dome, set up and imaged NGC 5139 Omega Centauri last night for an hour or so, then observed Saturn and Jupiter with my 12” Goto dob in the front driveway. I used my Televue Apollo 11 eye piece with a #80 blue filter , pristine detailed views of both planets especially Jupiters 4 moons like little bright flares behind the blackness of deep space, another great night down here ( a few cloudy nights ahead to recover from sleep deprivation )

Thanks Peter
The bigger newts do this object justice , no disrespect but refractors just don’t pick up sharp detail down to the core
Thanks
M
PS: Sleep is this thing you do to keep imaging the next night without making mistakes and waisting time

Peter,
Thank you so much
When the world eventually gets back to some semblance of normality, you definitely have to make a trip to Australia and image our southern skies
There’s plenty of dark sites within a few hours drive of our capital cities plus half the country is uninhabited in the central regions , all scrub and desert but don’t tell anyone
Cheers

Thanks George
The 2600MC is brilliant like it’s cousin the QHY268C
I’ve had it a year now and it still amazes me with its performance and capabilities

Pretty nice looking Omega that Martin  Sounds like you had a red eye double nighter, aren't they the bomb :) :stargaze:

Thanks Mike
It’s not an easy target like some people think , especially to keep the core uniform and not blow out too much
I’m not a fan of all nighters but it is part of the hobby and sometimes you can’t help yourself
Cheers
