I had time to reprocess the Jupiter image I posted earlier and they look vastly different. I was just wondering which one people preferred.

The one on the left is the original processing:

Processed in Registax as is and resampled 2x with Mitchell on the final screen before saving.

The image on the right is the reprocessed one:

Split into separate RGB images and indivdually processed in Registax. Resampled 2x with Mitchell on the Optimise screen. Recombined in Photoshop before reloading into Registax for a bit of histogram stretching.

I don't know. I am leaning towards the reprocessed one on the right. It looks a bit more natural even though it is a lot grainier looking. The original image on the right looks smoother but it is a lot more contrasty.

one on the right, the left one looks like too much wavelets.

Definitely the one on the right - the detail seems 'finer' - like it was coloured with pencils as opposed to crayons on the left :)

It is just like David's avatar above ... that more natural looking (ie eyepiece view) Jove is what grabs me.

 It's amazing how good an image can look at 2 am in the morning when you are falling asleep at the computer. Then next morning you look at it again and think "That doesn't look that good after all, I can't believe I posted it"

I'm glad I took the time to reprocess it properly.

The one on the right looks best to me :) Nice shot!
