The M.R.O hosted its first Workshop on the 14th of April which drew attendance from a wide range of telescope users looking to gain something other than what's covered in the user manuals.
Several 12 inch LX200 models graced the telescope pad area along with a few 10 inch and 8 inch units, all looking most impressive. Our guest instructors, Andrew, Stuart and Pete from the Melbourne Meade Advanced Telescope Users Group were busily moving from scope to scope all Saturday afternoon and evening assisting users in many aspects of Meade use.
A few users had only recently acquired their units and the basics were covered in order to help them on their way. Firmware Uploading, Drive Training, Balancing, Handpad Operation and many other topics were skillfully covered and all participants were most appreciative for the help given.
As the night wore on, all cloud cover dissipated to reveal a splendid sky and an untold number of celestial objects to target during the weekend.
It is hoped that this event will be the first of many more to come.
